After so much delays and laziness, signups for the full Rewrite RP are now coming up. This, like most things is a WIP. Please ask me if you want to play a major/minor canon character. Note that any major canon character that are not Shepard will have their sheet made by me. Characters can be submitted in this thread or their threads. Like I hinted towards in the previous paragraph: parts of Shep will be decided by collaboration me and the person playing them (like gender, name, background, romance history, some choices, the Virmire Survivor (VS) ), but I'm going ahead saying some of the things Shep did in ME 1 right now barring the required stuff: The Council was saved Wrex and Garrus were recruited Wrex survived Virmire Captain Kirrahae survived Virmire The Rachni were spared Shepard was nice to all their crew members, formed good relationships with them and talked to them to the max, and did all their personal quests Others as I think of them if I want All other things that Shep did will be collaboratively decided with me having the final say. Major canon characters up for grabs ATM: Liara, The VS, Shepard, and more. Taken major canon characters: Garrus, Tali (King Feraligatr) Possible upcoming major canon characters up for grabs: Joker, Anderson, Wrex, etc Players:King Feraligatr (GM):Characters being played: - Garrus Vakarian
- Tali'Zorah (vas Carva) nar Rayya
- Zytex Gyrandros
- Fa'ana (Fana) Seleya
- Liara, the VS, etc. until they're taken by others
- Pending OCs
- The Citadel Council
- Most, if not all NPCs
Parastrat023: - Juun'Reyan nar Raezzor
- Possible Krogan OC
Here's a basic signup sheet template for characters (some things are optional): Name: Your character's name. Can be simple, a nickname, a codename, something. Required field. Race: must be a valid race for the RP, which is practically all races. To list, valid races are: Turians, Humans, Asari, Salarians, Krogan, Quarians, Vorcha, Batarians, Yahg, Drell, Volus, Hanar, Elcor, and AIs (the AIs will need some discussing, but I'm allowing them). Geth and Rachni will not open up until later. Required field. Gender: if applicable. Some races like the Asari are all female and stuff like AIs technically have no gender. If you are an AI though, please give me a leaning of which gender you are if you think it's applicable. Transgender OCs are allowed. Required field. Age: Optional field, but it's best if you give me an age range. If you want, birth date goes here. If you do give me an age, you need to give it to me in at least Earth years. Physical description: A brief description of what your character looks like. Height and weight go here as well if you want. Optional field. Skillset: What can your character do? Are you great at combat? Are you a biotic? Are you good with tech? Are you great at diplomacy or politics? Etc. Required field. Occupation: What does your character do for a living? Optional field. Personality: What is your character's personality? Required field, but doesn't need much if you don't want it to. Homeworld/space station/ship/etc.: Where you born? Optional field. Biography: A short or medium sized description of your character's history. Can be edited later, but you have to get my permission first and it can't contradict previous, current, or upcoming events. Please play nice with the rest of the task force and the group. Required field. Your plans for your character: What are your basic plans for this character in this RP? Required field and I want something here, but it doesn't have to be much. Also, you don't have have to follow everything you put here. For major canon characters except maybe Shepard, I will be the one who makes a character sheet for them, not the person playing them (as I said before). Wait until I make the sheet before playing them, but signing up for them before I make one for them is fine. Also, I highly recommend you play Mass Effect 1 before signing up so you know what's going on. Not playing ME 2 or 3 is fine as they never happened in this RP, they're just pools for ideas. To more "immersively" get your character into the RP, we will do a conversation between your character (mostly OCs) and either Fana, Zytex, or the Citadel Council recruiting them. Who does the recruiting depends on your character's status and the current circumstances. Zytex or Fana are more likely to be the character you talk to. This isn't exactly required if you request not to, but unless you tell me you don't want to do it, you cannot post in the RP until you do our recruiting conversation in the signup thread. It doesn't have to be long, I just want it to be more "immersive". And I reserve the right to refuse to recruit your character during certain times or anytime really. Hopefully the later never happens though. Anything that happens in the recruitment convos in the Signup Thread is "gray canon". This means it happens unless otherwise noted, but can be easily retconned at will. Recruiting new characters: Open Expressing interest with new characters: Open Yes, I did copy most of this from the Signup Thread Archives. Why waste a perfectly good resource? Anyways, feel free to post character signups below. Also, like always, feel free to add things, critique things, challenge me, poke holes in things, etc.

Here's an example how to make a character. This character is an important OC that I will be controlling; but nonetheless, here's an example: Name: Zytex Gyrandros Race: Turian Gender: Male Age: 60s in Earth years Physical description: To be decided. Skillset: A biotic. Excellent leader, tactician, strategist, etc. Also has experience in politics and diplomacy. Has some technical skills as well. Lacking in direct combat, but is great when fighting tactical and supporting. Occupation: De facto task force leader/supervisor. Special forces and a general in the Turian Hierarchy. Personality: Excellent, fair leader who's good with his troops and others. Has an interest to know the current events in the galaxy and sometimes goes off and does his own thing. Fairly formal, but is friendly. Relaxed view on races and is barely racist at all (not sexist either). Birthplace: To be decided. Biography: Zytex Gyrandros was born in Turian territory to a high ranking Turian father and a rather high ranking and highly skilled eezo technician/specialist mother. Due to his mother's high amount of contact with eezo, Zytex developed the mutations necessary to generate biotics. Unfortunately, this caused him no shortage of grief due to Turian's usual dislike and distrust of biotics. Fortunately, his family and friends remained very supportive of him and he was able to get a good education, good support, and some help controlling his biotic abilities.
When Zytex was around his 15s in Earth years, he joined the Turian military like most of his race. He performed well and was recognized as a top soldier, but the stigma against his biotics worked against him; preventing him from getting advancements, having people look down on him, etc. Fortunately, due to his skill, biotics, and his mother's and father's connections; he was recruited into the Turian special forces. specifically the Cabals. There he was made more free of the stigma against his biotics and was finally able to make a name for himself mostly unhindered. He was able to score many victories against enemies to the Turian Hierarchy and the Council forces. Eventually his exploits made him a well respected general in the Cabals and over all Turian special forces.
When Zytex heard that Saren's attack on Eden Prime was confirmed, he took an interest in investigating what happened there and also any future events related to a Human named Commander Shepard and Saren himself. Unfortunately, Zytex did not have easy access to the classified files that Shepard and the Council exchanged, despite his rank. By the time he was able to get more information on the various missions, the events he had read about had been wrapped up by either Spectre. When Zytex learned about the Reapers (which horrified him about the possibility, he started forming a plan to help stop Saren and the Reaper named Sovereign, However, it was too late. Saren, Sovereign, their Geth, grown Krogan, indoctrinated servants, and a army of husks attacked the Citadel. Zytex was quick to organize a defense (he was on the station itself) but was surprised when the invasion was over much quicker than he expected. Later he learned that Commander Shepard and their crew was instrumental in stopping Saren and Sovereign. Zytex's interest in Commander Shepard only grew after that and he worked to investigate the Human. He also grew quite interested in learning more about the Reapers and current Geth and if any way, stop them.
Fortunately he didn't have to wait long. The Council, impressed with his abilities and reputation of the past and his effective resistance during the Sovereign's invasion of the Citadel, asked him to be their acting leader for a new black ops task force they had created in the wake of all the troubles the attack caused. He happily accepted the position. To him it was a way to help others, but also investigate many things that bothered him. And he was also excited when he heard Commander Shepard was called to work in this task force. He would have a chance to work with the famous Human themself. He currently is researching around the galaxy to build a successful task force of the best to combat the resurgent Geth, the new factions that have arose, and if necessary, the Reapers.
While some people are nervous about Zytex being a biotic, that usually quickly changes when they work with him. Many people have said they like working with him and say he is a good and fair leader. However, some dislike his tendency to do his own things and have his own agendas. They also notice that while he likes be in close contact with his troops, he does not go into the frontlines as much as some would like. Still, he brings effective, coordinated, well motivated, etc. results, which gives him his successful and decorated reputation.
I'll add more to the bio if I see fit.
Plans for the character: This OC is the effective leader of the task force during normal operations or if something happens to the Council. He's not a power schemer or the like, but he sometimes has his own agendas separate from that of the Council. He answers directly to the Council and only the highest ranking military officers, if that (he's definitely below the Council though). He's also the main recruiter, planner, etc. for the task force. Zytex is also insurance that we have a leader for the task force during most times. While I have plans for the Council to possibly under threat later, Zytex likely will never in any threat of death. He's also my main OC for the RP. But maybe he could eventually be just be made a high ranking member of the task force later. Who knows.... Also, unlike last time, Zytex might already be a Spectre or being considered for it. I will update this if I make up my mind.

Yet another old OC of mine: Name: Fa'ana (Fana) Seleya Race: Asari Gender: "Female" (like all Asari) Age: 460s in Earth years Skillset: Powerful biotic, very good with people, excellent at training others in spec ops and biotic techniques, great strategist and tactician, good at leading Occupation: High ranking member in the task force, higher ranking Asari special forces, trainer Personality: Very personable. Loves training new talent, esp. in special forces and biotic techniques. When out of combat, friendly, kind, etc. In combat, serious and can be a hard ass; but is fair, level headed, etc. Prefers to be closer to the front lines with her troops. A bit less relaxed than Zytex when it comes to matters of race, but is still nice to most races. <possibly more later> Home: TBD Biography: Fa'ana Seleya, also known as Fana, is a higher ranking Asari special forces member. Ever since she was a young girl, Fana was very interested in military service and protecting galaxy. When Fana thought she was old enough; she joined various mercenary groups, security forces, and more (all "ethical" and "lawful" though) in an effort to gain more experience to be accepted into the best of the best of the Asari spec ops. Throughout her service in the various groups making a name for herself, she would periodically put in requests to be accepted, but she had no luck in her maiden years until she was in her early 300s.
Upon being recruited into the Asari special forces, Fana was put in a place lower place than she had wanted. Still, she was happy to finally be a member in the organization she had always wanted to be in. Fana put in lots of effort when she was recruited, hoping to make more of name for herself besides just her reputation she built in her mercenary days. Even when Fana hit her matron stage, she had no desire to quit the special forces and in fact had even more drive than before to succeed. Due to the Asari having many ranks in their special forces and it being harder to be promoted in Asari units due the Asaris' long term view of the world, Fana found it took a while to get higher in the ranking. This did bother her much however, as she found it fun to take on the foes of the Asari Republics and Citadel space.
Fana continued making a name for herself in the Asari special forces and found that she loved leading and training others. She eventually applied and was accepted to be a junior field commander and trainer, training new recruits in special forces operations, and not just Asari ones. She also had developed a huge competency for biotics and also became a junior trainer in that field as well.
One of Fana's most successful trainees was the Turian Zytex Gyrandros. Due to the Turians' distrust of biotics (Zytex is a biotic) and Zytex's high competencies, Zytex was assigned to the Turian special forces, specifically the Cabals. While being trained, Fana was assigned to train the Turian in both special forces and biotics, among other things. The two developed a strong friendship and bond during their time training, which persisted even after they where done. The two went on plenty of missions together which increased their bond even more. Eventually Zytex was able to secure a higher rank than Fana in the Citadel special forces (based on ranking in their own species' ranking systems. Asari rank up slower and have more ranks than the Turians due the Asari having a longer lifespan and worldview), but the two still maintained close relations, with Fana serving under Zytex's command several times. While Fana has some issues with Zytex's quirks, such as his tendency to do his own thing; Fana calls Zytex one of her greatest students. The Turian in turn returns the compliment, calling her the best teacher he's had.
Even after finishing training Zytex and working with him, Fana sill continued leading and training, eventually being promoted past the junior stages and being a full fledged leader and trainer. During the incident with Saren, Fana showed interest in taking down the Spectre, but was always too late to do anything. She was allowed by Zytex to read the mission reports he was allowed to get his hands on. While Fana was disturbed by some of what she saw, especially the Reapers, she did not take it as hard as him. When Saren and his Geth attacked the Citadel, Fana was in Zytex's defense group as they attempted to stop the invaders. She was surprised when the attack was over far sooner than she expected and led the group that swept the Citadel for remaining Geth after the attack. Fana was also able to read the classified reports of mission reports of the attack on the Citadel, Ilos, and more through Zytex.
When Zytex was asked to lead the Council's new black ops task force, one of the first people he recruited was Fana. The Turian asked her to be a subordinate leader, trainer, tactician, strategist, and more; which Fana gladly accepted. Fana now hopes to take down the Geth, Reapers, and anything else that dares to threaten the Asari and Citadel space. To her, she would like nothing better.
<More if I want to>
Character plans: Friends with Zytex and a subordinate leader. Will likely be a field commander, secondary recruiter, and trainer to those in the task force. She might die IRP, speaking she's not as important as Zytex. Also, I plan on keeping Zytex and Fana's relationship strictly a platonic good friendship. I see no reason to have romantic relationships ever, especially amongst my own characters.

Garrus's character sheet. Will be updated later. And yes, it was copied from the archives. Tends to wear blue armor and has a distinctive visor over his left eye. Skillset: Excellent sniper and rifleman. Also a good combat engineer. Good detective skills and is known as a competent leader. Quite friendly to people he's friends with, but gets angry with criminals. Homeworld: Palaven Biography: <Fill in later> Plans for this character: To be decided, but he lives through the entire RP. Tali's character sheet. Yes, it was copied from the archives and will be updated later. Name: Tali'Zorah vas Carva nar Rayya Race: Quarian Gender: Female Age: Late teens to early 20s in Earth years Physical Description: Wears a patchwork envirosuit at most times. Wears typical Quarian attire, albeit with the patterns of her clan. Under the mask, I'd go more for this: stevegoad.deviantart.com/art/Tali-Zorah-Vas-Normandy-164202743 . This picture is pretty good fanart and infinitely better than the ME 3 garbage we got. Also, it helps paint a very broad picture of what Quarians look like under their masks. Important as they'll be able to be out of their full suit (if not entire suit) more with the Rewrite Quarians having the better immune systems of ME1. Skillset: Excellent Quarian engineer and machinist. Has knowledge of the Geth. Is skilled with the workings of ships. Also quite skilled with shotguns and pistols. Occupation: Former Quarian on Pilgrimage. Served as an engineer under Commander Shepard. Has separated from Commander Shepard and now helps out the Migrant Fleet. Personality: Well meaning, but somewhat naive. Is not afraid to be ruthless if pushed. Formerly did not express herself as much, but that has changed since her time fighting Saren. Is now a bit more cynical and world weary. Loathes synthetic life. Homeship: Quarian vessel Rayya Biography: <fill in later> Plans for character: To be decided, but she lives through entire RP. Also, I assume from what she has saw has made her more cynical and world weary. Has separated from Commander Shepard and has completed her Pilgrimage, joining the ship Carva.

My OC: Name: Nick Taylor Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 34 Physical description: Caucasian, Nordic origins, about 190 cm tall, build semi-muscular, small scars all over his body. Skillset: Engineer, specializing in SMG and Pistol firearms, tactician, prefers diplomacy over conflict, however if it does come to conflict there is little to no mercy. Standard Alliance Marine and Engineer Corp Training. Occupation: Freelance mercenary following unceremonious dismissal from the Alliance Special Tasks group Personality: He seems to be light hearted when off duty, trying to be friends with most people he meets but in recent years that changed for him to be more introverted. Birthplace: Earth, Europe, Germany. Biography: Nick was always a tinkerer, ever since he could sit on his own and use his hands properly, he would try and take things apart and back together. He enrolled into an engineering college, however he didn't seem to want to be a pure engineer and he eventually dropped out to join the Alliance, under the engineering corp. Due to the Alliance's ever expanding reach he was always on the frontier, helping install electrical and hydroponically components to various colonies. In severe cases his squad had to deal with pirates and mercenaries that tried to raid the colonies. Unofficially they considered themselves a form of colony protectors. Following Shepards encounter with the geth at Eden Prime things turned to the worse as his squad was not prepared to deal with Geth and many died as a result when they were guarding a colony. After the incident he left the core to peruse other more freelance work.
Plans for the character: Every group needs an engineer.

Finally found the time to get to reposting stuff from the archives:
-Name: Juun'Reyan nar Raezzor
-Race: Quarian
-Gender: Male
-Age: 22 Earth years
-Physical description: Wears navy blue enviro-suit with a gray faceplate. Is known to keep tools on him unless the situation doesn't call for it, in which case he still brings his omni-tool. Is 5'11” tall and weighs 170 pounds.
-Skillset: Skilled Tech-User, Has some skill with internal/external ship repairs both mechanical and electronic. Passable ranged-combat skill, poor melee-combat skill.
-Occupation: Ship Salvager/System Repairs (prior to recruitment)
-Personality: Comes across as self-centered and dismissive of others at times. A bit of a perfectionist, focused on their work to a fault. Despite these traits, Ju'un is usually mild-mannered unless the situation would call for him to be either panicked, annoyed, or on rare occasions enraged. Is uncomfortable in deathly, unnatural silence and may talk to himself if isolated in an unnaturally quiet environment for too long. More than likely will undergo some development as the story progresses and gain a sense of camaradarie and teamwork. While he has no real prejudices against any species, he holds a firm grudge against the Geth for killing his father and several of his former friends. (He may or may not eventually forgive them in the future, depending on key events).
-Birthship:(Needs a title?) Raezzor
-Biography: A 3rd Generation crew member of one of his birthship's salvage teams. Juun'Reyan is a skilled ship repairman who has helped dismantle various ship wrecks both in the fringes of space and on the surfaces of various planets, salvaging their parts for the benefit of the Migrant Fleet. He began his pilgrimage not too long ago, and while much of his background isn't that different from the average Quarian, what separates Juun'Reyan from most Quarians is that he also treats his pilgrimage as a quest for vengeance. He is currently seeking any kind of critical information or technology that could one day potentially defeat the Geth for good, hoping to avenge the deaths of his father and several of his friends that occurred when his birthship was heavily damaged from a Geth Dreadnought encounter that left many of his shipmates slain.
-Your plans for your character: He'd be the kind of person who gives the impression of partially along for the ride, but also has his own agenda. Specifically hopes to find valuable information in these operations that might one day help the Quarians defeat the Geth and reclaim The Quarian Homeworld (although that may change over time). May leave before the story's finished for non-death-related reasons, unsure at the moment.
(Like I mentioned once earlier, I may think up of a possible krogan character when appropriate and when I have the time.)

@parastrat023 So how do you want handle Juun's recruitment? Do you want to redo the recruitment, use the old one, etc.? Provided you want to do a new recruitment, do you want Zytex, Fana, or someone else generic to handle it? Also, you can always skip recruitment altogether and your character would still be valid.

Honestly man, I was pretty happy with how the old recruitment went. I can't really think of a better version of it, so I'll stick with what I have. Still not sure whether I'm going with that Space-Freighter "Trucker" Krogan idea or not, but I do know they'll definitely have a pet Varren used for scouting and attack support and will carry a family heirloom in the form of a badass shotgun.

Okay, Parastrat0023 , Juun's good again. I just got to get Deadspear squared away (and anyone else that might be a latecomer) and then we can start this thing. Unlike like last run, parts that would have made sense denying new characters will still allow them if we have too few people (like right now......). Also, for anyone who isn't Parastrat, here if the link to the archived old recruitment convo: kfmerewriteforums.proboards.com/thread/16/signup-thread-archive?page=4 . As you can see, it begins a little bit down on (archive) page 4 and continues in hard to follow form until midway on (archive) page 5. As always, feel to ask questions, add things, make commentary, etc.
