These forums host my ideas for my Mass Effect Total Rewrite. Born out my frustration of the series and how it turned out after ME1 (which was a game, that while very flawed, sucked me in). I whined about BW's ME2 and and 3, got mods to change them, etc.; but it was not enough. So one day (according to my documents, it was nearly a year ago) I decided to do something about all the problems in the series. I decided to scrap all of BW's canon except ME1 and totally redo all the series using ME1 as a base, especially after said game. Throughout my time browsing the Internet, I found many criticisms and ideas, some of which inspired me and/or I adapted for my own. I'm not going to spill my frustrations here, but here are some my goals, values, and rules I hope that I can live up to (though no promises):

• This is a total rewrite of the events not in ME1. ME2, 3, etc. did not happen, at all. BW's series is only a pool for ideas, and does not need to be followed at all (barring ME1).
• ME1 is canon and must be followed, or at least contradicted. However, I am allowed to play with, change around, make stances, etc. on the areas that are more vague in ME1. Ultimately, though, I have the final say in everything.
• While I follow ME1, I'd love for this Rewrite to be it's own thing.
• I want to this be a collaborative effort. Please run ideas by me and I can consider it. I won't necessarily tell you if I use one of your ideas though, I may modify it, not use it at all, etc. Sorry. As always, I have the final say in everything. I'm at least a bit of a control freak (but hope to not go mad with power).
• I hope to make this as logical, lore friendly, well written, etc. as I can. I want to avoid plotholes and the like to the best of my ability. Please call me out (though not rudely unless I'm rude) if I slipped up anywhere.
• In general, correct me if I go wrong, slip up, go power mad, etc. I might not respond well, but at least you tried.
• Any other things I wish to add, change, or remove at my discretion.
• This is a hobbyist project. This means I work on this at my own pace. If I want to to disappear and/or not work on this at the moment, I can. Still, feel free to discuss things and use the forums as they're intended to.

This is just a start. Am I completely nuts and out my league handling a Rewrite of this site? Fuck yes. Am I very lazy at most times? Fuck yeah. Could the time I spend on this be better spent elsewhere? You bet your ass yeah. Do I feel I need to do this? Very much yes.
